I’m a recent graduate from UC Irvine with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a minor in Digital Arts. While I came into college expecting to find my niche in the world of business, I quickly realized that I wanted to pursue a field that was more creative, and human-centered; a field in which I could directly see the impact of my work in people’s daily lives. Enter my third year of undergrad when I discovered UX Design: a nearly perfect intersection of my background in marketing, branding, and visual design. 1 year later, I am happily taking the leap to becoming a product designer that utilizes my interdisciplinary background to bring fresh perspectives into any space by combining design thinking to further business strategy.

As I’ve fully fallen in love with designing, I’m excited to see the power that design has to inspire change and shape our future, especially in spaces of social justice and equity. My identity as a 2nd generation Chinese-American woman has allowed me to understand the importance of diversity and inclusion, informing many of my design decisions and overall philosophy. I hope to grow as a designer that always puts my users first to make thoughtful design decisions that foster a more accessible and empowering future.

My name is Florence (she/her) and I’m a UX Designer crafting thoughtful design solutions that are enriching and joyful.

As a past business and digital arts student, what drew me into UX design was the possibility of creating at the intersection of my interests in technology, business, art, and psychology. My natural curiosity and love for connecting with people only further supplemented my desire to solve problems for real users. What excites me about being a designer is the potential to create impactful change and shape our future, especially in spaces of social impact and equity.

In my design journey, I’ve worn a lot of different hats in pursuit of contributing to this more accessible and empowering future — ranging from being the sole designer of a closed-loop reusable packaging startup to designing for a Gen-Z powered non-profit organization committed to creating impactful social change. My hope is that in all my work I can solve critical problems to build more human connection.
